Who can participate in the Southern Alberta Summer Games?

  1. Eligible competitors must be residents or hold a mailing address in the region they are representing as of the Games registration deadline.
  2. If a competitor attends school in a Southern Alberta Region other than that of his/her residence, he/she shall have the option of competing for either region, but not for both regions.
  3. All competitors must be the minimum age as set out in the sport rules.


How do I register to be a participant?

  1. Consult with your local Regional Director. Each region sets their own registration deadlines and fees.
  2. Fill out all required Registration and Consent forms and submit with fees to your local Regional Director.


How many events can I participate in?

Athletes can participate in a maximum of three (3) events at the Summer Games.

I.e. Tennis, singles and doubles, counts as one (1) event.


When can I register?

Registration will open on May 6th and will run until June 12th.


How can I get involved as a volunteer?

The best way to get involved as a volunteer by signing up at https://volunteersignup.org/4MDFL

You will then be contacted closer to the Games to discuss your assigned task.


I live outside of the host municipality, can I still get involved?

Absolutely! We will be recruiting volunteers from all across Southern Alberta.


What kind of volunteer roles are there?

There is a volunteer role for everyone at the Summer Games! Some of the tasks include scorekeeping, timing, first aid, face painting, food services, etc.


Who can volunteer for the Games?

Anyone! No matter your age or ability, we can find a spot for you!


How will I receive my orientation and training for my volunteering tasks?

We will be hosting a volunteer orientation and appreciation on June 26th.  At that time, you will meet with your Sport Chair and they will explain your role at the Games.
